This week my art class went on a field trip to the NC Museum of Art. I really enjoyed this field trip because it was interesting to see all the all works from different eras all the way to the more modern art from today. Art has really evolved over the centuries.
My first reaction to seeing this piece was confusion. I was like, "why are there a bunch of rocks on the wall?". As I walked closer I realized that they weren't rocks, but faces of people carved into rocks. I ended up really liking this piece because I thought it was really interesting and intriguing.
This piece really dumbfounded me. When I saw it I thought, "Why is there a blue parallelogram on the wall? Why is it in this museum?". It didn't make sense to me then and it still doesn't make sense to me now. Overall I don't like this artwork because it doesn't bring out any emotion in me except that I don't like it. Maybe that's the emotion it's supposed to bring out in people. I don't like that there isn't any meaning to it.
